Frog Bar -- What I've been working on the last three months, and a Kickstarter campaign

Hello everyone!

I currently have the honor to work on a short film at my school called Frog Bar. It is a stop-motion animation piece about lots of dancing frogs in an art-deco bar. Currently I am part of the visual development/environments team, and it has been an incredible experience watching my designs come to life and learning all the other processes of an actual production.

If you would please watch our Kickstarter video, it would mean a lot to me and my team. We have been working tirelessly, and still have a lot of money to raise. By October 31, 2012, we need to raise $40,000 in order to cover the costs of the production. Turns out stop-motion is rather expensive.

However, this production can succeed. If you would watch the video, that alone would be incredible. If you could also just pass the video on, and share with a stop-motion enthusiast, or your mom. We can meet our goal if the word is spread. If you don't have a dollar to your name (trust me, I've been there), that's totally fine. Please just send our link around to anyone you know who may be interested. That would be overwhelmingly wonderful.

Thank you so much!

Also you can spot the logo I designed, as well as one of the paintings I did (the jade fly handoff), and I designed and sculpted the football-shaped frog head on the stand.

Spring 2012 Update

It has come to my attention that I haven't posted about this new semester yet.
Due to unforeseeable circumstances, the two classes I wanted to take this semester were cancelled two days before the semester began. That put me in a bit of a pickle. My roommate and one of my best friends, Jenni, recommended that I take Illustration 3 with her (in addition to Inspirational Art for Animation--I'll post the work from that class, soon).

Problem. I'm not an illustration student. I mean, I sort of am--but I'll graduate at AAU with a BFA in Animation. I'm not even sure what I'm really getting my degree in. Supposedly in Visual Development, but it's more overall knowledge? Maybe. Anyway, I had pretty much no intention to take any of the "Illustration Classes"--I hadn't taken Illustration I or II yet. I was terrified of the results--but one of my New Year resolutions was to "Learn Illustrator well," so I thought, why not?

Turns out I got a great teacher, and I latched onto the subject. I had never before used Illustrator (or Flash) to create anything, before. I'm currently working on my final (an interactive environment--expect goats), and I just can't get enough of it. As crazy as this might be, to change my direction almost completely in my fourth year of art school was one of the best things I think I could have done for myself.

Enough jabber. Here's what I've been working on this semester.

These little guys are currently hanging in the Powell Building Staircase. Dictatorship was never so cute.

This lady was my submission for the 2012 Haight-Ashbury Street Fair poster contest. I didn't win (oh well), but I did make it into the 9 finalists, which was pretty swell.

I submitted this to the Spring Show--I fixed up a lot of things. Still didn't get in. Just gonna make me work harder to get in next year.
Re-worked this for the Spring Show as well. Also didn't get in. Again, just more incentive to work harder next year.
Also, shut up Lydia.
