random art

I figured I'd post some of my final art from last semester and some character development sketches from this year, and a couple dumb digital paintings.

winter break

Well, I haven't written in this since November. I know I said I would update this more, but that hasn't worked out so well. For now, no promises on how often I am updating.

So...what's new with me. Winter break has come and gone, and I find myself back in San Francisco. I have a week until school starts, and I've been here already for about two weeks. It's basically just been one big vacation here without going to school. One bummer is that it has been insanely rainy, so I haven't gone out and about a whole lot. Last Sunday I did go on a quick adventure to Half-Moon Bay to get some brunch with three of my best friends, so that was fun...but as for extreme adventures, that's been about it.

Oh, and I went to two concerts...one with my friend Jacob and another with Jenni...I got a free ticket to the one with Jenni (City and Colour) because Jenni's friend Sarah was going to come up from Lancaster to go...but it fell through, but she already had her ticket.

I think this week I'm going to try to do some more fun things...I might go to Palo Alto to visit Carina's family, since I didn't get to at all last semester.

Also, a new search for a job has begun. Williams-Sonoma didn't need any more help after the holidays, so I'm woefully unemployed.

I'm incredibly excited for this new semester. I'm taking a Still Life Painting class, Clothed Figure Modeling 1, Intermediate Figure Drawing, and Narrative Storytelling. Three intensive drawing/painting classes will keep me busy Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon. I can't wait.

Winter break was fantastic, though. I was lucky enough to receive a trip to Hawaii as a Christmas gift, and of course got to spend lots of time with my family, which is always good. Jenni even came out to visit for a week, so I took her skiing up at Snowbird. The going was tough at first (after having to wade through ten feet of deep powder to dig her out) but at the end of the day, she was skiing down Chickadee no problem. Maybe next year I can take her on the big slopes.

I have a lot of reading to catch up on. I started and finished the book Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen in a few hours over break, and I have the newest Stephen King book to read, as well as Neil Gaiman's Stardust. Doesn't make me not want to buy every book in sight, though...I really need to get me a library card.

Alright, I'm off to start my day...at 3 pm. Don't judge me.
